The perfect
latte macchiato.
The latte macchiato was actually invented for children—in fact, even today in Italy, it’s not uncommon to offer them a warm glass of milk with an espresso in the late afternoon.
A latte macchiato is made just like a cappuccino—only in reverse order and with even more milk.
Here's how to make this classic dish:
- Froth 250–300 ml of milk, pour it into a glass, and let it sit for a moment.
- Brew an espresso.
- Pour the espresso into the frothed milk.
Pro tip: You can also froth the milk using warm milk (max. 70°C) in a French press.
We recommend the following brewing methods: portafilter machine or fully automatic coffee machine.
